We’ve recently created animated videos for two of our clients, supporting them with explaining and promoting a software product and educational support program.
We offer this service in addition to our videography services, and it really is a powerful tool for businesses to communicate with their clients and position themselves as industry leaders.
But first, what do we mean by an animated video?
An animated video is a video that uses elements such as motion graphics, animated UI callouts, text frames, custom illustrations, and voiceover-led storytelling, in a cohesive artistic style. It may include real-life footage, but doesn’t need to.
What are the benefits of an animated video for businesses?
Once you know the benefits of using animated videos for your business, it’s a no-brainer, especially when you need to convey information quickly and effectively. Businesses choose animated videos because they:
- Explain more complex topics so they’re easy to understand
- Quickly address pain points and benefits
- Are engaging and attention grabbing
- Create trust and position you as a thought leader in your industry
- Help you stand out
Case Study: Law Squared

Cubed by Law Squared is a legal operations platform that helps legal teams work smarter by centralising intake, matter and contract management and reporting.
Law Squared briefed us on a promo video that needed to drive awareness of the platform, showcase its benefits for in-house legal teams, and generate demo requests. They wanted a video that was professional yet approachable, clear, and concise. It needed to address pain points and highlight Cubed's core value proposition.
Our service included:
- A briefing session to confirm objectives, messaging and structure
- Collaboration with the Cubed marketing team on script structure, scenes and visual approach
- Development of a high-level edit plan / animatic to map visuals and animation beats.
Drafts were reviewed via Frame.io, with timecoded feedback and annotations, so the client could easily supply feedback.
Using our client’s branded assets and taking their reference videos into account, we blended clean motion graphics, subtle UI animation and voiceover-led storytelling to deliver a polished promotional video, with the level of animation carefully balanced to achieve a quality result within the agreed project budget.
It was exactly what the client was looking for, produced through a creative and collaborative process. Check it out below:
Case Study: Refugee Education Support Program

The Department of Education was launching a Refugee Education Support Program (RESP) during Cultural Diversity Week.
They needed a video that would help educators and stakeholders understand the purpose, impact, and structure of the program. It had to be clear, accessible and engaging, and align with Department branding and existing design assets where possible.
Our service included:
- A project briefing to confirm animation approach, visual direction and brand alignment
- Translation of the approved script and storyboard into visual storyboard frames
- Design planning for illustrations, icons and on-screen text treatment
- Creation of a timed animatic (voiceover + storyboard frames) to confirm pacing, flow and structure prior to full animation build
- AI voiceover samples provided for tone selection
We combined kinetic typography, custom illustrations, iconography, and simple character-free animation with the AI voiceover to visually interpret and enhance the approved messaging around student support, inclusion, school engagement and community impact.
The client had opportunities to provide feedback at the rough sketch stage, final artwork stage (primarily colour refinements), and animation stage, to ensure we were on the same page as production progressed.
It was a pleasure working with the Department and supporting them with delivering an important program. Take a look below!
