We love building ongoing relationships with clients, so it was a pleasure to work with Snooze once again on their annual conference, held in early September.
Hosted across three days at Geelong’s snazzy new waterfront venue, Nyaal Banyul, with exhibitors, networking, off-site activities, awards and a gala dinner, we were kept busy filming, taking photos, and even editing on-site.
Let’s dive into the project, and see how it came about.
The brief
There were two parts to the brief: videography and photography.
For video, Snooze wanted fun b-roll footage of all aspects of the conference – from arrivals and activations to entertainment and social moments – to be packaged into a highlight reel, which would be shown at the conference’s final dinner. We also needed to capture key moments from the dinner itself, along with other off-site activities.
For photography, we had two sets of deliverables: social-first images to be provided during event days for immediate use on social media, and high-resolution imagery for printed media and marketing use, to be supplied after the event.
All of our specialties – photography, videography, editing – rolled into one package.

The lead up to the event
Leading up to the conference, we joined pre-event meetings with the Snooze team to run through the program, schedules and event priorities. With photography, video and on-site editing all happening across the three days, coordinating the crew and production schedules was a big part of the preparation.
We also made sure everyone was across the required content, music, branding and delivery requirements before the event kicked off.
Event photography
With three days of activity, multiple locations and plenty happening at once, there was certainly no shortage of moments to capture. Our photographer moved between guest arrivals, networking, exhibitors, presentations, and the gala dinner.
The aim was to create a collection that felt professional, natural and energetic. Alongside the essential conference coverage, we kept an eye out for those candid interactions and details that help tell the story of the event.

We also needed to keep things flexible. With changing lighting conditions and plenty of movement throughout the venue, our photographer came equipped with two camera bodies and a range of lenses, giving us the flexibility to move between wide shots, detailed product imagery and more intimate moments.
Event videography on the day
Rather than simply documenting what happened, we wanted to capture what it felt like to be at the conference: the buzz of arrivals, busy exhibition stands, presentations, activations, entertainment and plenty of spontaneous social moments.
Our videographer captured a wide range of footage, from speakers and presentations, to expo activity, entertainment, social moments and the off-site activities.
A highlight reel, made on the spot
Then came the fun part – turning all that footage into a finished highlight reel, while the conference was still happening.
With an editor working on-site, we could build the story while the experience was still fresh, rather than waiting until everyone had packed up and gone home.
It was a fast turnaround, but with the production team working together across filming, photography and editing, we had everything ready to go for the screening at the final dinner.

The results
Three days, multiple locations and a whole lot of content later, we had captured the conference from just about every angle.
For us, it was another great opportunity to work alongside the Snooze team and put our photography, videography and editing skills to work in one big, busy event.
