In the age of online shopping, it’s not enough for bricks-and-mortar retail to just sell products; it needs to sell an experience.
Malvern Central brought us on board to do just that with their 2026 lifestyle campaign, designed to capture the shopping centre as a warm, elevated and community-focused destination.
The brief
The campaign needed a versatile library of lifestyle imagery across retail, food, fashion, community and the centre’s common areas to support Malvern Central’s FY27 marketing activity, which would range from social media and EDMs to the website and in-centre signage.

A key objective was to position Malvern Central as an experiential destination. Rather than simply showcasing stores, we wanted to make the centre itself the hero, highlighting its atmosphere, energy and sense of place.
Photography style + tone
Photography played a big role in bringing this vision to life, with our focus on capturing genuine moments that felt authentic rather than overly staged. This meant shooting editorial-style, with premium shots that still felt warm, natural and relatable. We did this by:
- Capturing talent in candid, connected and relaxed moments
- Using centre environment, retailers, food, greenery and architecture to provide rich visual context
- Creating a rich, warm colour palette with natural light and soft fill where needed
- Heroing people and place, rather than flat lay product imagery

In addition to the still photography, we also filmed some video content throughout the day, recording simple, atmospheric moments to support social media, website or campaign use.
On the day
Following detailed pre-production planning, including a site visit, our team of photographer, producer and photography assistant spent a day on location at Malvern Central alongside our family talent, stylist and client representatives.
Take a look behind the scenes!
Filming in a shopping centre was a fun challenge, from lighting to working around retailers and their patrons. It was a real team effort from everyone present and our hard work paid off!
After final retouching and editing, we delivered the final suite of images and footage to our client, exported and prepared for their various usage formats. The result is a versatile content library that captures the heart of Malvern Central, helping the brand tell a more human, welcoming and experience-led story across every touchpoint.
