Part of the Doherty Institute, the Cumming Global Centre for Pandemic Therapeutics is a global research centre focused on the rapid design and development of therapeutics for future pandemics.
They brought us on board to create the launch video for their Future Fellows Program, an initiative designed to attract and empower the next generation of leaders in pandemic science.
The brief
Cumming Global required a powerful hero film, supported by two 30-second social cutdowns featuring 2–3 key interviewees.
These videos needed to combine engaging interview and b-roll footage to create a narrative that:
- Highlights the ambition and global impact of the Future Fellows Program
- Positions Cumming Global as a world-leading centre for innovation
- Encourages applications from early to mid-career researchers
Creative planning
Our services spanned production planning, filming, and final delivery. We worked with our client to shape the tone and persuasiveness of the piece, ensuring the final film would resonate with ambitious researchers considering their next career move.
Creative planning included set design, camera framing, and lighting techniques, all designed to reinforce the aspirational tone and speak directly to driven, globally minded researchers.

On the day
Filming took place during a full-day shoot at the Doherty Institute. Our crew consisted of one videographer and a support assistant, operating with our own professional production kit that included a 4K cinema camera and interview lighting package.
Take a peek of what it was like behind the scenes:
We captured a mix of thoughtful interview moments and dynamic b-roll throughout the facility, showcasing the energy, expertise and world-class environment of the centre.
Final delivery
In post-production, we refined the narrative to ensure clarity and momentum across the hero video and two 30-second cutdowns.
The final edit included branded visual elements and a carefully selected backing track to elevate the emotional tone. The result is a polished launch video that invites the next generation of scientific talent to be part of something bigger.
Here’s the final video.
