The fifth ANZSOG First Nations Public Administration Conference took place in Brisbane from 26–28 November 2025, bringing together public servants, academics, and First Nations and Māori community representatives for three days of connection, learning and conversation.
We were brought on board to capture the 3-day event from all angles, including a livestream for those who couldn’t make it in person. There were a lot of moving parts to this project, so let’s dive right in.
The brief
Our role was to deliver end-to-end livestreaming, video production and photography across all three days of the conference. This included approximately 32 sessions spanning plenary presentations and concurrent streams.
The final deliverables consisted of two videos (a “sizzle reel” edited onsite for the last day of the conference plus a post-even highlight reel), all conference session recordings (including a fireside chat with Stan Grant at the conference dinner), and photography.

To bring this to life, we assembled a large, highly coordinated team of livestream specialists, camera operators, a roaming videographer, photographer, onsite editor, and a production manager/showcaller to ensure every element ran seamlessly.
The prep
They say failing to plan is planning to fail, and pre-production was critical to the success of this event. We kicked things off with detailed planning meetings with ANZSOG to confirm program requirements, deliverables and workflows.
From there, we developed a comprehensive production schedule, crew plan and run sheets so every team member understood their role. We also worked closely with the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre AV team to ensure seamless integration across visuals, audio and internet infrastructure, alongside remote technical testing and a full program run-through ahead of the conference.

Auslan integration
Accessibility was a key priority. We integrated an AUSLAN interpreter feed into all plenary livestreams, enabling members of the deaf community to participate fully. We also provided support for remote interpreter participation if in-person interpreters were unavailable.
At the event
When conference day arrived, everything came together. Roaming videographers captured dynamic b-roll and on-the-spot interviews for the sizzle and highlight reels, camera operators managed wide and tight shots for the livestream, and the photographer documented sessions, networking, exhibitors and the conference dinner, delivering key images progressively throughout the event.

Our creative director Jesse Spezza acted as onsite showcaller. He cued speakers, panels, video playback and livestream transitions, coordinated with the MC and venue staff, and managed live changes to keep the program running smoothly.
The final outcome included a same-day sizzle reel, a post-event highlight reel, edited recordings of every session, and a comprehensive suite of professional photography, capturing the scale, energy and significance of the conference from start to finish.
