Case Study: Family Christmas at Highpoint

Christmas well and truly arrived at Highpoint Shopping Centre on Friday 7th November.

We were engaged for both our photography and videography services to capture Highpoint’s Santa arrival event, while also producing a promotional video showcasing the centre’s family Christmas experience.

From Santa’s abseil into the event until the final wave goodbye, we were there to record it all.

The brief

Highpoint wanted to draw families into the shopping centre for the Christmas experience on offer. 

Our focus was to create visuals that would showcase the festive spirit of ‘Santa’s World of Wondermas’ and encourage families to choose Highpoint as the place for Christmas photos and holiday fun.

FOMO through video

We leaned heavily into storytelling to build anticipation and create a little FOMO. 

For the hero Christmas experience video, we used a follow-along technique, shadowing one family through the centre as they explored the decorations, entered the Santa photography set, and finally met the man himself. This approach allowed us to capture the natural reactions and excitement from the kids, which came through in the final video.

For the Santa arrival event, our focus was reliving the excitement. We highlighted the crowd’s energy, the grand entrance, the performances, and the thrill on children’s faces as Santa made his first appearance of the season. The final edit captured all of these highlights, allowing viewers to experience everything as if they were right there in the moment.

What we delivered

Our deliverables were crafted to support Highpoint’s broader Christmas marketing strategy, ensuring versatility across platforms and screens. 

Each 30-40sec video was delivered in both portrait (9:16) and landscape (16:9) formats, allowing Highpoint to use the content seamlessly across multiple channels. We incorporated on-brand graphics and titles throughout, and paired each edit with a carefully selected licence-free music track to enhance the festive mood.

Alongside the video content, we also supplied a full suite of professionally edited photographs capturing all of the special moments throughout the night.
