Roundtable is a 12-month, always-on learning and development program by The Faculty, procurement and supply chain management consultants. When they needed a production partner to bring their course content to life, they turned to us. Our role? To film, edit, and manage the entire production process, from studio shoots in Melbourne to remote filming interstate. Let’s take a look at how we managed it.
The brief
There were three key deliverables to the brief:
- one, to film up to 27 units for the course over two days in a Melbourne studio;
- two, to engage and support an external supplier for the out-of-state video production;
- and three, to professionally edit all final video units to ensure one consistent, polished final product.
Filming the e-learning units
In Melbourne, the 27 e-learning units, or scenes, were filmed over a two-day period. Each segment featured one or two presenters and was filmed using a two-camera setup to provide dynamic angles and coverage. Our aim was to showcase presenters at their best: natural, confident, and engaging on camera.
For those presenters who were not in Melbourne, we stepped in as production leads, identifying and engaging a suitable supplier to handle filming in the country/state where the presenter resided. We coordinated the filming process and provided guidance and oversight throughout the process, before managing the transition from filming to post-production. This hands-on approach helped maintain consistency across all content, regardless of location.
Delivering the final edits
Once filming wrapped, we moved on to post-production. This involved cleaning up footage by removing pauses and outtakes, and integrating brand elements provided by The Faculty, such as animated intros, outros, thought bubbles, and custom graphics. The result was a cohesive, polished series that delivered on both content and quality.
